Probably The Nation’s First Puppet Rave

Probably The Nation’s First Puppet Rave

Let us ask you something. Does your life lack whimsy?

Be honest. When was the last time you watched a felt, faux-fur, or sock creature with googly eyes lose its entire mind to a bass drop? Never? Yeah, that’s what we thought. That’s a you problem, it needs to be fixed, and we’re here to fix it.

Here’s the situation. There’s a rave happening next weekend. It’s by puppets, for puppets, and yes, their humans can tag along. What it is NOT, and we need you to really understand this, is a drum circle. It’s not. It’s never going to be. If you come looking for bongos and a guy named River telling you to feel the rhythm of the earth, you’re in the wrong place and we’re a little worried about you. Especially after reading all this.

So… do you wanna party with puppets going absolutely bonkers to Atlanta’s top puppet DJ? Can you handle one more night of your life not attending a drum circle? If you answered yes and yes, congratulations, this wild event was made for you.

Puppets get in free all night, because we’re not monsters. And the first 100 ravers snag a free finger puppet, so maybe don’t roll up fashionably late for once in your life. Because, finger puppet. It’s a noun, not a verb.

Now, here’s what you’re walking into.

A legit rave. Not just a bit of a rave, not an ironic rave, a real rave, with puppets. Our headliner is the iconic DJ Kandi Sprinkles, the only puppet DJ personally trained and mentored by Nonsense ATL’s very own DJ, Kimber. She is bringing pure energy and PLUR vibes and she did not put all of her little felt heart out into her set of bangers for you to stand in the back on your phone. You will dance at puppet rave.

Puppet Rave, is an interactive, immersive, EDM experience… with puppets. You’re not spectating. You’re in it.

Chaotic joy and ridiculous surprises all night long. And listen, if you somehow leave this thing without smiling, please, and we mean this with love, you may want to see a doctor or have a good hard look at your capacity for whimsy.

Puppets. Everywhere. It’s called a puppet rave for a reason, sweetheart. When the beat drops ( and the beat will drop), the googly eyes will go absolutely feral and the fur will thrash around. Every puppet is welcome here, no exceptions.

What should you NOT expect? Say it with us. A drum circle. Not happening. Not at a puppet rave, not ever at a puppet rave.

And because it actually matters: everyone is welcome. Any age (as long as that age is 21+), any race, any sexual orientation, any gender identity, any dance or puppetry skill level whatsoever. You belong on this floor with the puppet and other puppet lovers (You know what we mean, but if that’s your thing we’re not going to yuck your yum) What we do NOT welcome is creeps or bigots. Zero tolerance, don’t test us.

So come get weird with us. The puppets are waiting and they’ve got way more energy than you.

One More Thing, For the Record…

We want to be super clear about something. We are not anti drum circle. We would never. Drum circles are lovely. Some of our best friends are in drum circles. If a drum circle is your thing, go forth and drum, you have our love and our respect. However, this is simply, categorically, not one of them. That’s all. No beef, no shade, just puppets. Love and light to the drummers. May your drumming light the way, while the puppet light ours.

See you there! Tickets are selling fast for obvious reasons. Group discounts available online. Prices will go up tonight at midnight. So get yours now. No dilly dallying, y’all. Oh yeah, one more thing. At checkout you can purchase an add-on for your very own 9-inch animal puppet to be picked up at the door. First to show up gets to pick their puppet with the most choice… so you know what to do.

If this is just too whimsical for you, we get it… too cool for this shit. Newsflash, you’re not. But really, if you cant’ make it or it’s somehow just not your thing, send this to your weird friend who you know will absolutely love this. That is a cool thing to do. We still love you. We think slightly less of you. But we still love you.

Alright, you get the picture. Puppet rave. Not a drum circle. Saturday, July 18 at Atlanta’s iconic Drunken Unicorn. Yada yada. See you there.

Love you,

Nonsense ATL xoxo
